RIP

Finland you are maybe not so bad anyway

For once I am proud to have Nokia, oh I mean Finland as an neighbor. The reason is Nokia's new phone N900, for some reason I am tricked to feel hyped about this product. God it's not even out yet, no critic have had the time to do an in depth review of the piece. Just IF someone of you mist all the buzz about the phone here is a short summery.

Display 3.5 inch touch-sensitive widescreen display
800 × 480 pixel resolution
Processor and 3D accelerator TI OMAP 3430: ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz
PowerVR SGX with OpenGL ES 2.0 support
Memory Up to 1GB of application memory
(256 MB RAM, 768 MB virtual memory)
Mass memory 32 GB internal storage
Store up to 7000 MP3 songs or 40 hours of high-quality video
Up to 16 GB of additional storage with an external microSD card
GPS and navigation Integrated GPS, Assisted-GPS, and Cell-based receivers
Pre-loaded Ovi Maps application
Automatic geotagging

And this isn't even the best part, it's based on Debian Linux that would make a port from the desktop to the phone easy. One thing some people might think is bad is that it doesn't have multi-touch as iPhone have. One reason for this could be that iPhone have patents on that technology which sucks in my opinion. The good part is that as it is single touch and as you can move a mouse just as you would on your Desktop. It will be easier for programmers to again port there programs to the N900 from Linux.

Things that remain to see is battery life, something most mobile devices lack these days. And oh don't ask why I write in English there is no real reason for it.
